The water tastes better and I love it can sit on my bench at room temperature as I don't like cold water. It's much better than previous filters I've had that are plastic too as I usually can taste the plastic. I also like that I can see through it as previous ceramic filters I've had have gotten mouldy at the bottom so this solves that problem too. A weird thing I've found is that a glass of water can sit overnight and still taste good too. My unfiltered water here tastes so bad if I leave it overnight. I have a really expensive large filter that cost over $400 and it has served me very well for more than 10 years. I bought the Gentoo Glass Filter Jug to use when I was recovering at a family member's house after surgery since they don't have a filter and was absolutely amazed with how effective it was at removing impurities, metals etc. The water is the smoothest I've ever tasted from a water filter, including my expensive filter.
